Hi, I’m Sofía. I write Cuidados Femeninos from Ecuador. This is where I gather and explain, calmly and without judgment, the information on women’s health, beauty and relationships that I wish I had found in one place.

Who is behind Cuidados Femeninos

Hi. I’m Sofía Castillo, founder and editor of Cuidados Femeninos. I started this blog because I wanted a place to talk about health, the body, beauty, and relationships without drama or shame—woman to woman, with clarity and respect. I live and work from Ecuador.

I am not a medical authority and I do not replace your doctor. My job is to research, cross-check, and explain topics many of us search for every day, in practical language that is easy to read—so you can have better conversations with health professionals and make more informed decisions.

Our mission

We want to offer clear, useful, up-to-date information about women’s lives: what happens in the body, the mind, and relationships. No alarmism, no miracle tips, and no unreal version of what it means to be a woman.

If something in an article is unclear, we revise it. If there is an error, we correct it. We would rather say “we don’t know for sure” than invent an answer.

What you’ll find here

  • Women’s health: menstrual cycle, fertility, menopause, urinary infections, intimate health, and general well-being.
  • Beauty and personal care: skin, hair, habits, and products—with context and without impossible promises.
  • Relationships: jealousy, breakups, living together, and boundaries, from a realistic and respectful point of view.
  • Practical guides and downloadable resources when they add real value—not only to collect emails.

How we prepare content

Every article starts from a real search question or a concrete need. We check information against recognized medical sources and official organizations, write it in approachable language, and review it before publishing. When a topic changes (new recommendations, health alerts, or updated evidence), we update the text and note the review date when it matters.

You can read our criteria in more detail on the Editorial policy page and how the site is funded on the Affiliate disclosure page.

How I put each guide together

  1. A real question first: what women actually search for on Google and what readers write to us about.
  2. Reliable sources: official health organizations and recognized medical sources such as ACOG, Mayo Clinic, MedlinePlus, Cleveland Clinic and womenshealth.gov. Health guides link them in a “Sources” section at the end.
  3. Plain language: direct answers to the most common questions, without scare tactics.
  4. Review and updates: every guide is reviewed before it goes live and updated when recommendations change. The published or last-updated date is shown at the top of each article.
  5. Transparency: if an article contains affiliate links, it says so. No one pays to be recommended.

Everything here is for information only: I don’t diagnose and I don’t replace a medical visit. If you have symptoms or questions about your own situation, please talk to a health professional. And if you spot a mistake, write to me and I’ll review and fix it.
